CARING – Our focus value for Term 1

The Value of the Term at Westcliff School of Skills: Caring

At Westcliff School of Skills, the value of the term is caring – showing empathy, support, and kindness because it helps everyone grow and succeed. This term, we’re bringing caring to life through exciting initiatives that teach our learners the true meaning of giving and helping others.

Bottle Lid Collection – Supporting the Paarl School Initiative
We are collecting plastic bottle lids to support the Paarl School initiative. The aim is to collect enough lids to donate a wheelchair to a learner in need.
To make it fun, the class that collects the most bottle lids will receive a sweet reward! This is a fantastic way for our learners to actively show care and make a real difference in someone else’s life.

“Noodspens” – Giving Freely
Our second initiative is called “Noodspens”, where learners can bring non-perishable food or hygiene items to school. These items will be used to create hampers for learners or families in need within our school community.

Participation is completely voluntary – learners are encouraged to give freely, learning the true meaning of caring and generosity without expecting anything in return.

Putting Caring into Action
Through these initiatives, our learners are not just learning about caring in words – they are practicing it every day. Small acts of kindness, empathy, and support can have a huge impact, and at Westcliff School of Skills, we are proud to see our learners live these values in meaningful ways.
